The San Diego County Water Authority is now accepting applications for its Fall 2016 Citizens Water Academy, which educates current and future leaders about water issues in our region.
Participants visit key water facilities and learn firsthand from several members of the Water Authority’s leadership team about critical water issues affecting our region through activities, discussions, and thought-provoking material covering water history, supply diversification strategies, supply planning, and facilities.
There are two evening classroom sessions from on , and one daytime session on at approximately , which includes a facility tour and graduation luncheon.

Applications go through a competitive evaluation process before participants are selected. You can also nominate someone you think might be a good fit by completing the nomination formby . Again, the program has high demand, so the selection process is competitive, and acceptance is not guaranteed.
