The El Cajon City Council honored PSAR for its support of “America on Main Street,” a special event held on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14, 2014, in Downtown El Cajon. More than 25,000 people attended the event that celebrated El Cajon’s rich diversity, shared tradition, civic pride and community.

At a recent city council meeting, council members presented Carey Guthrie, 2014 PSAR president-elect, with a clear-glass trophy that recognized PSAR’s support at America on Main Street. PSAR members manned a booth at the event and engaged families in discussions about homeownership, including involving children who beautified a home illustration using crayons. PSAR’s sponsorship support was funded with a grant from the National Association of REALTORS®.

City officials said PSAR’s decision to support the event was helpful with

encouraging other groups to join the celebration that featured 130 booths, American and ethnic foods, live performances, a Ferris wheel, a petting zoo, handmade crafts display and a naturalization ceremony that welcomed about 50 new U.S. citizens.
